About the Position

In this position you'll join our small and extremely talented product team that is building the future of programmable video. Our team is working on the core product, Synthesia STUDIO, the world’s leading AI video generation platform for businesses.

You'll have a chance to work on scaling our current, fast-growing product and shape some of the next products in our pipeline. This will be a dream job for you if you enjoy deep, uninterrupted work. Some of the projects our backend engineers work on include building out a custom video/audio rendering pipeline, implementing real time collaboration, optimizing video delivery/streaming, solving scaling problems, etc. Our tech stack is: Python, C++, React, node.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS.

💡Important to know: We have a fast yet non-hacky development style. We work strictly with product managers who have a technical background. As a result, we do not overwhelm engineers with unrealistic expectations/requirements, and we can therefore move forward much faster. Read more about how we work in this Linkedin post.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience working as a software engineer (preferably in a SaaS startup)
• Strong CS fundamentals and experience building and scaling distributed systems
• Extensive experience with database technologies - in particular PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Extensive experience developing and operating services running on Linux and cloud infrastructure (we're on AWS)
• Good level of spoken and written English.
