Description:

Actalent Engineering has a Fortune 500 Global Telecommunications company looking for a remote Network Consulting Engineer to join their SVS(Solution Validation Services) Consulting Team. In this role, you will be responsible for customer specific solution testing of an automated and integrated optical and packet network, which is composed of several applications that manage and control devices, device components, network features at all layers of the OSI stack as well as the distinct features of the customer business systems.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years working/testing experience with SP L2 and L3 technology ex. (MPLS-TE, ISIS, OSPF, BGP, L3VPN, L2VPN, LAG/LACP, BFD, QoS, SNMP, CFM) .
• The ability to configure Cisco XR and XE platforms is a must and familiarity any of Cisco platforms ex. ASR9k, NCS55xx, NCS540, NCS4200 series is a plus.
• Ability to emulate and scale using traffic generators such as Ixia/Spirent
• Experience working with Service Provider networks and exposure to Service Provider design/architecture
• Experience working with a service provider customer were you managed their 5G/4G/3G networks

Nice to have:

• Strong understanding of carrier ethernet E-line functionality which includes EVPL and EPL concepts and knowledge of Circuit Emulation which includes RFC 1588 and SyncE. Testing of Sonet APS and UPSR.

Scripting/automation knowledge(nice to have): PERL, Python, TCL or equivalent
